We are Islanders -For growing ´Kizuna´ in the Pacific

The 6th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM6) will take place in Okinawa on May 25 and 26, 2012. A summit-level meeting sponsored by the Government of Japan, the PALM provides a forum for Japan, the Pacific island countries and other related countries to address the various issues faced by island nations in the Pacific, thereby promoting stability and prosperity in the Pacific region. Two previous PALMs have been held in Okinawa: PALM3 in 2006 and PALM4 in 2008.

The third to be held in Okinawa, PALM6 also coincides with the 40th anniversary of the reversion of Okinawa to Japan. On this special occasion, Okinawa Prefecture will host receptions and exchange events to welcome the leaders and dignitaries from abroad, furthering Okinawa’s role as the hub of exchange between Japan and the Pacific Island nations.
