In the early morning hours of October 31st, 2019, at least seven buildings of Shurijo Castle – a building rich in history and culture, and a symbol of the Ryukyu Kingdom – were completely destroyed in a devastating fire.
The Okinawa prefectural government is determined to make utmost efforts for the swift restoration of Shurijo Castle.
