The Summit Music Festa
The Summit Music Festa was held at the Kaihin Koen Stage in Ginowan City on June 4th, starting at 6PM. This event featured performances by young and successful Okinawan artists.

The Young Leaders Summit
As a prelude to the G8 summit, the Young Leaders Summit was held at the Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan City on June 13th and 14th. It started with a key note speech by Mr.Yasushi Akashi. As many as 30 delegates from countries worldwide participated in the workshops and debated on different topics.

High School Summit
Student representatives from high schools in Japan gathered to exchange opinions about "The World in the 21st Century" and present their views on "peace, environment, and the economy."

Elementary and Junior High School Summit
The Elementary and Junior High School Summit in Okinawa was held from May 13th to May 15th. Eighty four student representatives from Japan enthusiastically discussed the world environment, focusing on the theme "Think of the Earth in the 21st Century".
