Messages of Peace Art and Literary works

During World War II, Okinawa was the sole battlefield in Japan . We lost many precious lives and parts of our cultural heritage as a result of the battles fought here. Half a century has passed since then, and it is an important task to hand down the historical facts accurately, for futuregenerations.

Accordingly, we urage an children and students to paint or draw pictures, or write essays or poems about peace and send them to us. Availing ourselves of this opportunity, we will talk about and remind people of the preciousness of peace. Also, we will put on display pictures, paintings, essays and poems of distinctive quality that will thereby send out the "message of peace" and appeal to the hearts of many people.
