Okinawa Peace Prize
The Okinawa Peace Prize was established in 2001,
being aimed at recognizing efforts of individuals and organizations
contributing to the promotion of peace in the Asian Pacific
region geographically and historically related to Okinawa.

The Cornerstone of Peace
The Okinawa Prefectural Government has decided to erect a monument
inscribed with the names of each end every person who died in
the Battle of Okinawa and called it "The Cornerstone of
Peace". The main purpose of the monument is to transmit
a message of everlasting peace to future generations.
